Everyone is welcome to come to their 101st open house
College Royal is a free campus-wide open house at the University of ߲ݴýthat showcases seven different schools of study. There is a ton of family fun to be had at this community event.
Come see all that University of ߲ݴýhas to offer on March 15 and 16. Their annual open house, College Royal, is celebrating their 101st year.
We wanted to stick to our roots this year,” said Jillian Ohm, College Royal president in a press release. “It’s amazing to see that this tradition has lasted so long, even through trying times. It’s great to see everyone back on campus.”
The event encompasses all seven colleges at the university and it’s an opportunity for everyone to check out the various buildings and activities being held. Ohm said it is run completely by students at the campus at .

“It’s so rewarding to see our hard work come together and experience the joy it brings people,” said Ohm.
The square dance competition is set for Saturday, March 15 at College Royal.

Here are six things to do at College Royal this weekend.
1. Take your family to Old MacDonald’s Farm to see all the live animals and interactive displays.

2. Head over to the livestock shows and check out horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle and sheep showcased by students.

3. Go to the College Royal Square Dancing Competition on Saturday to learn about this fun tradition and watch talented dancers compete.
4. Get yourself a pancake breakfast at the Pancake Flip and judge the various creations from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. The pancake flip competition will take place on Sunday.
5. Try a plant-based milkshake with a mystery flavour that will be unveiled, developed by undergraduate students in collaboration with the ߲ݴýFood Innovation Centre.
6. Go see fun dog shows where student handlers and pups show off their skills. There will also be cat shows where competitors are judged virtually.
You can also check out art, and a new commemorative mural to celebrate College Royal’s 100th anniversary that the students hope everyone will take their photos at. There will also be outdoor and indoor games and activities for kids on campus.
The free event also has free parking in any campus lot. Main buildings for the event include the University Centre, Dairy Barn, Summerlee Science Complex, Athletics Centre and Rozanski Hall. Find a map and schedule at .
