Health Canada has issued a product recall notice for a DeWalt heater due to a potential fire hazard.
The recall involves the DeWalt Model DXH70CFAVX 70,000-BTU Outdoor Portable Cordless Forced Air Propane Heater with Model No. F340666 and UPC 089301012424.

According to Health Canada, if a consumer presses the on/off button too quickly, the unit may appear to turn on, but won’t start the fan.

Health Canada said this could lead to overheating and possible melting of plastic prior to the overheat safety device engaging and shutting the unit down.

As of March 7, the company has received two reports of the product overheating in Canada, but no reports of injuries. In the U.S., the company has received 18 reports of the product overheating and no reports of injuries.
The recalled heaters were sold in the U.S. and Canada between May 2024 and January 2025.
