All but six of 80 Hudson’s Bay, 13 Saks Off Fifth and three Saks Fifth Avenue stores began liquidation sales last week.

Impacted stores are expected to close by June 15.

Some stores, like CF Lime Ridge location in Hamilton, are offering discounts of 15 to 40 per cent off most items. But some designer merchandise has been pulled from shelves and those deep discounts don’t apply to fragrances and cosmetics.

Rewards points paused

The Hudson’s Bay Rewards (HBC Rewards) paused during the corporate restructuring process. Customers can no longer earn or redeem points.

HBC Mastercard still valid

Hudson’s Bay Mastercard holders cannot view, earn or redeem points. But cardholders can still earn cashback from Neo Financial when using their HBC Mastercard.

What about Tim Hortons eGiftCards?

Some may be wondering about the status of digital Hudson’s Bay gift cards that were distributed by Tim Hortons.

During its recently-concluded Roll Up to Win contest from Feb. 24 to March 23, Tim Hortons awarded prizes ranging from food to vehicles, vacations and electronics. Through a digital rolls contest offering, customers could also win a $10 promotional eGift Card for Hudson’s Bay stores.

How to claim your replacement prize

While those $10 eGift Cards are no longer valid, Tim Hortons has reached out to Roll Up contest winners with a replacement prize.

“You may have seen the recent announcement about the Hudson’s Bay Company initiating court-supervised liquidation proceedings. As part of the process, they are no longer issuing gift cards,” Tim Hortons said in a message to contest winners.

“Tim Hortons wants you to have the best Roll Up experience possible. That’s why, together with Endy, we’re awarding you a $50 Endy Gift Code. Endy is Canada’s original mattress-in-a-box brand. In addition to its mattresses, it also offers bedroom furniture, bedding, and sleep accessories.”

Roll Up to Win players have been advised to keep an eye on their email inbox for messages from the prize partner (timhortons@promo-trak.com). Consumers can enter their Endy gift code to receive details on how to redeem it.
