Kraft Heinz and the National Hockey League/National Hockey League Player’s Association have announced that nominations for Kraft Hockeyville 2025 are now open, with $250,000 and an opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game set to be awarded.
Every season, Canadian communities get the chance to share stories and highlight their connection to the game and their local arenas, with one community being chosen to host an NHL game in their local arena, while also receiving money toward arena upgrades.

“Supporting communities has always been the heart and soul of Kraft Hockeyville,” said Simon Laroche, president, Kraft Heinz Canada in a . “We’re proud to help grow the future of the game; from a small local rink to the big leagues, we believe that hockey has the power to inspire greatness. So, Canada, lace up your skates and dream big — together, we’re building a stronger, more accessible sport.”
Along with the winner of the grand prize, three runner-up communities will be awarded $25,000 each toward arena upgrades, and the top four finalists will receive $10,000 in brand new hockey equipment to ensure more children have the opportunity to play the game they love.
The 2024 winner was Elliot Lake, Ont., which “provided a beacon of hope for Elliot Lake as they look forward to the reopening of their arena, a revitalized facility that will serve as the heart of their hockey community.”

The community of Elliot Lake had the privilege of hosting an NHL pre-season game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators on Sept. 29, 2024 at Sudbury Community Arena. Enderby, British Columbia, Cochrane, Alberta, and Wolsely, Saskatchewan were among the four finalists announced.

This year, Kraft Hockeyville has announced they’re partnering with Carey Price, a former NHL All-Star, Hart Memorial Trophy Winner, and Olympic Gold medallist who was named as the official 2025 program ambassador.
“Growing up, hockey was more than a game. It was a community cornerstone where I formed lifelong friendships,” . “Now, as the Kraft Hockeyville 2025 ambassador, I’m excited to help inspire the next generation of hockey greats.”
Over the past 19 seasons, Kraft Hockeyville has awarded more than $5.1 million to 101 communities toward assisting the next generation with an opportunity to play the game they love, and maintaining or upgrading aging sports and recreation infrastructure throughout the country.
Nominations for this year will close on Sunday, March 2, at 11:59 p.m. ET. A top four announcement will take place on March 15, and the winner will be named on April 5.
