The recalling company reports 84,474 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between September 2019 to June 2024.
The Health Canada recall notice explains the recalled product has a cap that may lose its retention over time and/or under certain operating conditions and can separate from the pin.
“The hitch may separate if the hitch lock backs out of the hole alignment between the hitch and the drawbar/ball mount,” the recall notice warns. “If the trailer is not using safety chains, the trailer could separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.”
As of Feb. 4, 2025, the recalling company has received one report of minor vehicle damage in Canada but no reports of injuries.
