We’re finally getting a break from the cold spell we’ve been under in Ontario, but first we’re getting some snow to start the weekend.

“It’s been a while since we’ve seen accumulating snow in parts of southern Ontario, including in the GTA and extreme southwestern Ontario, like Chatham-Kent and those areas, so it’ll be important for drivers to be a little more cautious,” he said.
Drivers should be aware of potentially slick roads and keep a greater distance between the car in front.

Temperatures this weekend are expected to return to near normal for this time of year with daytime high temperatures of a few degrees below 0 C.
“It’ll be a bit of a reprieve from the past several days of very cold temperatures, very cold wind chills,” he said.
The weekend could end with flurries, particularly in areas to the east of Georgian Bay, through the GTA and southwestern Ontario, but the Sunday snowfall is not likely to be significant.
