Festival director Colin McKinnon, owner of Farm League Brewing, said tickets are selling fast, and the VIP ones went so quickly they are trying to expand their special area.
“It’s been really exciting and the support from the community is amazing,” he said.

He had always wanted to hold an event in Fergus because he said the property is one of the best due to the work put in by the Fergus Highland Games.
“We were able to put together some great acts the first year and have been riding on the momentum ever since,” McKinnon said. “It’s just going to keep getting better.”

This year the festival will have the Reklaws, the Country Mixtape with Tyler Joe Miller, Shawn Austin and Andrew Hyatt, and the Road Hammers on the bill for Friday, and the Glorious Sons, Big Wreck, and JJ Wilde on Saturday plus other popular acts.
“I think with the way the world is, it’s more important than ever to keep supporting Canadian artists, and we’re going to keep doing it,” said McKinnon.
All the bands and musicians that have played so far have loved Fergus, spent time walking around the town and hanging out in the park and say it’s just a great town, one of the best they’ve ever played in, he said.

“It’s such a fun event to be at, but it always comes back to the music for me,” said McKinnon. “Every year I am so fortunate to book bands that I grew up loving. It’s cool that the Reklaws were born and raised in Cambridge, probably about 200 metres away from our brewery, and we’ve gotten to know them really well.”
He said Farm League Brewing also collaborated on a beer with the Glorious Sons a couple of years ago, TGS Lager, and he can’t wait to see them live in Fergus.

“Big Wreck is a band I remember seeing in high school and I’ve always loved them, too,” he said. “The fact that both The Glorious Sons and Big Wreck are on the bill together, two of the strongest rock bands in Canada playing back-to-back — I just love that it gets to happen at our little festival. I think people are going to be blown away.”
McKinnon said Farm League Brewing, of Galt, is a title sponsor but much more than that. He is proud that the brewery can showcase music and bring folks together.

“Every year we do a Meadows can, so we pick the lineup for the festival and then put it onto a label and then on the beer,” he said. “Meadows IPA will be coming out again shortly. You can get it at the festival but also leading up to the event. It even has a QR code that goes to the website so people can get more information”
But he said the event isn’t just for those who are 19+, it’s meant for all ages to come and enjoy. You can bring chairs, blankets, and it’s a laid-back atmosphere.
“We did add camping this year as well,” said McKinnon. “The response has been really good.”
Over the next couple of weeks, he said they will be announcing food and artisan vendors. The festival will also have a second stage for the first time this year and those lineups will be posted shortly.
