Driver doubles down with Wellington OPP, earns twice the charges
A 19-year-old driver from Acton faced multiple charges for various violations while operating a commercial vehicle in Puslinch Township, twice earning penalties.
A 19-year-old Acton driver who doubled down with police ended up earning twice the number of charges in Puslinch Township.
Wellington County OPP said on Monday, at approximately 11 a.m., West Region officers were conducting enforcement initiatives on Highway 401 when they stopped a commercial vehicle at the 401 ONroute in Puslinch.
The driver was charged with operate commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed, fail to surrender completed daily inspection report, operate vehicle — fail to display inspection sticker or proof, and defective braking system — commercial motor vehicle.

The driver was also given a warning for improper tires and driving a commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle.
Officers instructed the driver not to transport the trailer in its current state due to safety concerns.

Shortly after, the driver was seen back on the roadway by OPP, who stopped the vehicle on Townline Road in Puslinch.
This time the driver was charged with drive commercial motor vehicle contrary to prohibition, draw trailer — no plate, fail to display inspection sticker or proof, operate commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed, improper tires on drawn vehicle, and improper brakes on trailer.

As well, the driver was charged with fail to enter defect in daily inspection report, fail to surrender inspection schedule, fail to surrender completed daily inspection report, and drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle.
