The amount you can expect to receive for the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB) depends on your income and your province or territory of residence.
The CWB is a refundable tax credit aimed at helping individuals and families who are working and earning a low income.The initiative “puts more money in the workers’ pockets to help cope with the rising cost of living,” .
The benefit comes in two parts: a basic amount and a disability supplement.
You can claim the CWB when you file your income tax return.
For those who are entitled to the CWB on their income tax return, advance payments of up to 50 per cent of the CWB will be issued under the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB).
These advanced payments are issued across three payments. There is no need to apply.

When the payment date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday or a federal statutory holiday, the payment will be made on the last business day prior to the posted payment date.
If you did not get your payment on the expected date, it’s advised you wait 10 working days before contacting the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
The maximum basic amount for the CWB is $1,518 for single individuals.
The amount is gradually reduced if your adjusted net income is more than $24,975. No basic amount is paid if your adjusted net income is more than $35,095.
For families, the maximum basic amount is $2,616. The amount is gradually reduced if your adjusted family net income is more than $28,494. No basic amount is paid if your adjusted family net income is more than $45,934.
The maximum basic CWB amount will vary for residents of Quebec, Nunavut and Alberta.
The maximum amount for the disability supplement is $784 for single individuals.
The CWB disability supplement is gradually reduced if your adjusted net income is more than $35,098. No disability supplement is paid if your adjusted net income is more than $40,325.
For families, the maximum disability supplement is $784.
The CWB disability supplement is gradually reduced if your adjusted family net income is more than $45,932. No disability supplement is paid if one spouse is eligible for the disability tax credit and your adjusted family net income is more than $51,159, or if both spouses are eligible for the disability tax credit and your adjusted family net income is more than $56,386.
The maximum amount for the disability supplement will vary for residents of Quebec and Nunavut.
The CRA uses your martial status, province or territory of residence, earned working incomes, adjusted family net income, eligible dependant information and your eligibility for the disability tax credit to calculate the benefit.
You must be a resident of Canada on the first day of the quarter to be eligible for the advanced payments. You can estimate your advanced payments by using the .
