Theatre Ancaster recently put on a production of “The Sound of Music.” The movie of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

There may be a few more people twirling around some mountains in the Swiss Alps this year, as the “Sound of Music” is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical — based on the real life — was made famous with a movie starring Julie Andrews as the lead character, Maria, in 1965.
