Heavy rain is coming for most of southwestern Ontario this weekend, and Environment and Climate Change Canada has .
“Significant rainfall is possible this weekend. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall,” the weather agency said.
The alert applies to municipalities including Waterloo, London, Kitchener, Windsor, Chatham-Kent, Cambridge, Guelph, Orangeville, Caledon, New Tecumseth, Innisfil, Collingwood, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Parry Sound, Kearney and Sundridge.

The rain is supposed to arrive Saturday evening, and continue through to Sunday night, with total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 millimetres possible.
“With a risk of thunderstorms, local rainfall amounts in excess of 40 mm are possible over some areas,” Environment Canada said. “Localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads are possible.”
