º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½200 Community Working Group needs diverse voices
The City of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½is accepting volunteer applications for the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½200 Community Working Group until April 21. Up to nine members will be chosen to plan and implement events and initiatives to celebrate the city’s 200th birthday.
Are you a passionate person who wants to help mark a big milestone for Guelph? City staff wants to work with you to plan, implement and support neighbourhood events, community partnerships and legacy initiatives, the city of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½said in a press release.
They are taking applications now for the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½200 Community Working Group, and nine diverse individuals will be chosen to lead the way. Staff say the intention of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½200 is to reflect on and commemorate the past 200 years of history at this place now known as Guelph, and to consider and celebrate community as we experience it, but also to use the opportunity to initiate action that contributes to Guelph’s evolution as a city and what residents aspire to be.
Get your application in before April 21 so the group can commence and proceed between April 30, 2025 and Jan. 30, 2028. There will also be subcommittees focused on signature events, commemoration and legacy initiatives, community partnerships, sponsorship and revenue development, the city said.
