Co-ordinator and founder Matthew Ryder said FTI is a worldwide collective made up of independent artists, but he is focusing a lot more on Guelph. His platform is free for creatives to showcase their talents and network with others. It involves and spotlights artists and musicians of all kinds.

“FromTheInside Studios is my passion project. It’s my happy place,” Ryder said. “I would say, at the end of the day, it’s who I am as a person.”
Ryder just loves promoting and uplifting creators in any way he can. He produces a weekly Instagram reel called “Creator of the Week” which gives him the opportunity to celebrate someone really cool and the artists also post their own video and content.

He said you can also tune into his podcast about these creators for interviews and insights.

Ryder started out just on Instagram then decided to share FTI across different social media sites. He hopes to grow its presence and keep building the community. He also has a Discord group for folks to join.
“A big goal for 2025 is to build ,” Ryder said.
He said he actually started up FTI in 2020 and expanded it in 2024 after a bit of a hiatus.
“The present day one is more refined,” he said. “It’s more true to myself and what I always wanted FTI to be, which is a place for creators to come to be celebrated.”
Ryder believes in positivity, paying it forward and working together for a common goal.
“I’ve dubbed myself everyone’s wingman because I just want to make sure that people have an outlet, even if it’s more of an experiment,” Ryder said.

Ryder threw a relaunch concert for FTI last November at the Underground at 89 Macdonell St. and said it was a blast. Now he is hoping to keep growing his platform and having fun.
When he first started doing this, he said he just called it “Matt’s Thing,” and that’s how his family and friends thought of it. He said his girlfriend, Danielle Onisto became his biggest supporter and now she helps with his ideas, filming videos and more.
“That’s the only success story I need, honestly. Having someone who is as down and willing to help me pursue my dreams and help me help others; I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Ryder said.

“I was really hard on myself, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do,” said Ryder. “My background is really just being curious and imaginative.”
He said his journey is inspired by the amazing people around him, the creators celebrating and supporting each other. He’s putting the puzzle pieces together and figuring out how to grow the work he loves. He’d like to make this project a full-time job in the future.
He said it has been organic, and so far, he thinks things have happened the way they should have.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Ryder. “I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
