A small Ontario community northwest of Toronto is among the top four finalists for this year’s Kraft Hockeyville 2025.
Honeywood Arena at the North Dufferin Community Centre is still in contention for the $250,000 grand prize to be named by Kraft Heinz, in partnership with the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players’ Association.Ìý

For decades, the local community has cheered on their beloved Hurricanes, all thanks to dedicated volunteers who have aimed to preserve the spirit of hockey.
“Honeywood, Ont. may be a small town, but its community spirit and love for hockey are anything but,” said Michelle J in a Kraftville story submission.

“Tucked away in the hills of Mulmur, this close-knit hamlet is a place where neighbours know each other by name and the local rink isn’t just a building. It’s the heart of the community,” she added.

The aging arena, known by locals as “the coldest rink in Ontario”, is in need of repair. If crowned winners of Kraft Hockeyville 2025, it would not only receive $250,000 for arena upgrades, but also the chance to host an NHL pre-season game.
If they don’t happen to win, they will still receive $25,000 as a runner-up community toward those arena upgrades and repairs, as well as $10,000 in brand new hockey equipment for the community for making it to the finals.Ìý
Voting
The Pete Knight Memorial Arena in Crossfield, Alta; Arena de Saint-Boniface in Saint-Boniface, Que.; and the Sackville Arena in Lower Sackville, N.S. are the other three finalists in the competition.
Voting opens on April 4 at 9 a.m. local time and closes on April 5 at 5 p.m. local time.Ìý
The grand prize winner will be announced live on “Hockey Night in Canada” on April 5.Ìý
