Affordability aside, Ontario homebuyers may wish to consider crime rates and public safety concerns when choosing to set down roots in a new community.

But what are the safest places to live in Ontario and how do they stack up against other communities in Canada and the United States?

Zoocasa safest

The safest places to own a home in Ontario include Ottawa-Gatineau, St. Catharines-Niagara, Barrie and Belleville, according to a Zoocasa study that also analyzed Fraser Institute crime data.
