‘Tree damage and utility interruption are possible’: Environment Canada warns of strong wind gusts in several parts of Ontario
Affected communities include Toronto, Peel Region, York Region, Durham Region, Simcoe County, Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes, Wellington County, Dufferin County, Halton Hills, Milton and Grey County.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for various parts of Ontario as strong wind gusts are expected Thursday, April 3.
The strong wind gusts may develop later in the morning and continue into the afternoon.

The weather alert said wind gusts of up to 85 kilometres an hour are possible. Additionally, loose objects may be tossed and local power outages are possible.

“An unstable air mass may bring a few hours of strong wind gusts up to 85 km/h later this morning into this afternoon. Tree damage and utility interruption are possible with the recent freezing rain and rainfall event over southern Ontario,” the weather advisory said.
